One simple way to clean your tile floor is to avoid harsh chemicals by creating your own homemade cleaning recipe. A harsh chemical that is vinegar base can with continuous use can damage the tile. To clean your tiles use a soft absorbable mop, warm water, and mild dish soap to clean the floor. Use a damp sponge with a dab of dish soap to clean between each tile then finish with a damp mop once again.
2. NATURAL WINDOW CLEANER
Cleaningyour glass window takes a very strange vegetable from your kitchen. Yep, that’s right, a vegetable, and that vegetable is an onion. Onions are very acidic making them easy and great at breaking down dirt and smears. This Amish homemade cleaning recipe uses an onion as a scrubbing tool. Yep, you heard right.
Instructions…
Cut an onion in half, and use one side to wipe over your glass window. When you are through wiping use a sponge dampened with warm water to wipe away the residues. Give the window a second wipe with a clean sponge to ensure your window comes out spotless.
3. AMISH WOOD POLISH
To care for wooden items around your home, specifically, cleaning your wooden furniture. These can be cleaned with liquid cow’s milk. This sounds a little wacky but the scientific detail of milk is fat. Fats can be used to add sheen to the wood. That somehow clarifies our milk concern.
To polish your wooden furniture, use a damp sponge or cloth to clean away the dirt and dust from the wooden piece. Pour a dab of the milk on a slightly damp sponge.
Use this to polish the wooden piece. To remove the smell of the milk sprinkle a few drops of scented oil on a sheet of paper towel to glide over the piece. This should remove the smell of the milk.
4. AMISH HOMEMADE BLEACH RECIPE
To spot-treat stains on clothes, this recipe will take care of that. I would recommend using this Amish bleach recipe for just one item at a time. For this, you’ll need a small bucket.
Fill the bucket with one gallon of water. Stir in 1 cup hydrogen peroxide,1/2 cup baking soda, and dissolve well then submerge the item. This should only be done if the stain is widespread causing discoloration.
Allow this to soak for 1 hour before checking to see the progress. When you are satisfied with the color toss in your washer on a regular cycle using your regular laundry detergent.
For a spot-on treatment add 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide to 1/4 cup baking soda. Stir into a paste and apply it onto the spot and allow it to sit overnight. Wash as you normally would in the morning.
Before using on colored clothes test a small amount on a hidden area before applying to prevent damage.
5. AMISH HOMEMADE AMISH GROUT STAIN CLEANER
This word has become very common these days as everyone seems to somehow be having grout issues. The real solution to grout stain is to clean the area regularly to prevent dust and grease build-up which then turns into ugly stains.
Removing grout stains from tiles including your bathroom tiles and kitchen floor tiles is pretty simple. Pour 2 tablespoons of household bleach into a small spray bottle. To this add 1/4 cup warm water with an equal amount of white vinegar.
Shake well and spray directly on the grout stain which is mostly found between each tile. Let this sit for 1 hour. Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or an old toothbrush to brush the areas you sprayed. Lather with Dawn dish soap and a wet cleaning rag then rinse with warm water. NOTE: This recipe requires the user to wear a face mask.
6. GREASE STAIN REMOVER
To remove grease stains whether on clothes or items in the home such as your floor and furniture. Refer to #9. This laundry detergent can be used to paste on grease spots on clothes for 1 hour before washing.
For grease spots on furniture on wooden floors and other surfaces add a little moredish soap to make it into a paste-like substance. Apply it directly onto the stain.
For wooden objects allow sitting for 5 minutes. Use a soft damp sponge to wipe the area. PLEASE NOTE: Before using any chemical on wood test the substance on a small area for signs of damage before applying it to a wider area.
7. AMISH ODOR REMOVER
The Amish don’t have air fresheners well, in one way they do, but only a bit more creative and natural. To make your home smell fresh and natural without any harsh chemicals try doing this.
Some plants are natural air fresheners. These can be placed in different areas of your home to deodorize the home. Another way is to gather all the pine cones you can.
Place them in small containers then sprinkle drops of wonderful smelling scented oils on the pine cones. This will diffuse in the room and the smell is to be experienced on your own.
A favorite of mine is mint as they give off a nice fragrance when brewed, and the leaves made my room smell amazing. Simply pour 1 cup of the brew into a spray bottle. Add to this 10 drops of baby powder or lavender-scented oil and mist your entire home.
8. AMISH CLOTHES BLEEDING SOLUTION
Fabric is given its color with beautiful colors called dyes. Though making our clothes into the color we want them in these dyes can bleed when collided with water causing the color to become pale very quickly. Most times these bleeding clothes items can damage other clothing if washed together.
To stop the bleeding, submerge the item you suspect into a bucket of room-temperature water. Pour in 1 cup of salt and turn over the item in the water. Allow sitting for 15 minutes. Remove and wash preferably by itself.

To make your own Amish laundry detergent you’ll need… 3 cups Borax, 1/2 cup Dawn dish soap, 1 cup grated Fels-Naptha. In a bowl that has a lid, pour in the borax the add the grated Fels-Naptha. Replace the lid on the container and shake vigorously.
Shake until you see a crumb-like texture appearing. Remove the lid and add the dish soap cover and shake once more. Now, this solution is ready to give you natural bright, and clean laundry results.
10. AMISH BATHROOM CLEANER
An amazing way to clean your bathroom and have it smell amazing for days is with a simple recipe that the Amish use to make their bathroom spotless. This solution can be used to clean your bathroom sinks, floor, bathtub, shower, tiles, and toilet. What else could we ask for?
In a small spray bottle pour in 3 tablespoons Pine-Sol and 1 tablespoon household bleach. fill the bottle with water. Shake well and mist the area in the bathroom you wish to clean. 11. AMISH STOVE CLEANER
Stovetops get messy ever so often. This can be quite unavoidable as spills happen while we cook. Here’s something that the Amish do to protect their stoves from sticky and greasy spills.

Method…
Spray on the stovetop and allow it to sit while you do something else. Go back to the stove using a ball of steel wool or Scotch Brite. Move your hands in a gentle scrubbing motion across the stove.
By now the food particle should be soft and making it easy. You can also substitute the vinegar with a fabric softener. When you are through simply wipe with a clean warm damp cloth until the top is completely spotless.
12. AMISH HOMEMADE COUNTERTOP STAIN REMOVER
