Barbara J Simone Obituary - 2023 - (2024)

Barbara Bain Simone

1950-2023

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Barbara Simone who was the loving wife of John, and adoring mother of her son John Anthony, his wife Andrea, and her daughter Alicia, her husband Tommy, and to her grandchildren Nicole, TJ, Arianna, and Giovanna. Barbara was a loving sister to Linda, John (deceased), Tommy, Jimmy, and Bruce.

Born in upstate NY, she was the daughter of Jack and Rosa Lee Bain. They traversed the country as her father Jack was a lifelong Marine affording Barbara and her five siblings the opportunity to live in the Virginias, Carolinas, and Hawaii before settling in Buffalo, NY. After her marriage to John they moved to Long Island where they raised their children, eventually retiring to Florida. Her military values of integrity, kindness, generosity, honesty, and compassion has cascaded to her children and their families as she leaves her wonderful legacy of her children and grandchildren making the world a better place.

Barbara worked tirelessly for her family as a stay at home Mom. She was a champion for her family, on the sidelines pushing for them to be better, never quit, and succeed. She unselfishly and unconditionally loved her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was known as the Mom for the neighborhood children who always found comfort (and plenty of snacks) in her home. She was both a Mom and nurse attending to every scratch and bruise for all the kids in the neighborhood. Her home was their home away from home.

Throughout the years Barbara was an avid reader and had a creative artistic flair.

Her friends and family will always remember her warm smile and adoring eyes. All her friends and family will miss her dearly but will remember her honesty and frankness. She had a tough exterior but a warm and tender heart.

In the end, as she did in her life, she faced the challenges of her devastating Alzheimer’s disease with dignity and courage. In the end she was fearless as she fought harder than most before succumbing to the disease.

The ceremonies and celebration of her life in Florida, Long Island, and Buffalo will be private for her family.

Special thank you to all the dedicated support at Inspiritas of Stuart, Florida, and the compassionate care received from VITAS Hospice. Donations in her name can be made to VITAS Hospice located at 1695 SE Indian Street in Stuart, Florida.

God Bless Barbara
