I'll be visiting WDW 5/24-5/28 and plan to spend 1 day at Epcot and 1 at typhoon lagoon, plus univ studio and island of adventure.
I am already planning my packing and what clothes to take etc. Just occurred to me whether I am 'allowed' to wear my thong bikini whilst at the water-park or whether it would be frowned upon.
It is o.k. here in Miami, but I guess things may be different in other places.
Also, does anyone know how I can go about buying entrance ticket for typhoon lagoon without having to go for the 3 day disney 'plus. ticket?

You can buy one day water park tickets at the gate.

OK...I'll bite. Are you a man or a women? I've seen women in thongs, mostly South American or European, at the waterparks...never seen a guy however. I don't think Disney has an official take on it.

This comes from Mouse Planet:
"People will wear just about any kind of bathing suit at the parks. Guys are usually seen in larger, baggy trunks. You will see the occasional speedo, though, and it's not always a GQ kind-of-a-sight. Ladies should feel comfortable in whatever they'd wear to swim at the resorts. You'll see everything from drenched cover-ups (presumably with a bathing suit of some kind underneath) to the quite-revealing bikinis. I'm pleased to report that I've never seen a thong, but I won't say they're not worn at the parks."

If you go down any fast, steep water slide, any bathing suit you wear will become a thong.....at least temporarily.

Now That's Funny!!!
Man or woman, in good shape or not--- PLEASE COVER YOUR BUNS!
The only buns I want my kids to see better come with a hamburger or hot dog(keep you minds out of the gutter there). LOL

I agree!
With little ones running around, maybe Typhoon Lagoon is not the right place for your thong bikini. I hate having to try to distract my child from something he shouldn't see.

wellllllllllllll I may just need to buy myself a thong for this WDW vacation - lol
DS would be completely embarassed to be seen with me. "Mom, you may have lost the weight but you arent young!" I embarass the kid when I wear a bikini! (which isnt too often)

I think it is in very bad taste to wear a thong at a family park. I dont even like to see them at regular beaches. But that is just me because i dont appreciate being forced to look at other people's butts no matter what they look like. What's wrong with a regular bikini? Cover too much for you?

I did see a thong last summer at Typhoon Lagoon. A 30 something year old mother. Very tan looked eupropean. Not too offensive. The worst thing I have seen was at Magic Kingdom. Mom and daughter wearing Bikini with fish net type shorts and top. Like wearing nothing else they were so see through.
That was offensive. My son then 14 pointed them out and said yuk

well we were staying at all star movies one year and there was a woman in the lobby wearing a thong and a tankini top. She had a mesh cover up on, but it was still nasty. you could see cottage cheese buns. Not the site I would expect to see at disney but I did see a "bush" last year at Epcot. Did not want to see that either.

We have annual passes to the water parks. I've never seen anyone where a thong. See many European men and boys wearing speedos, and have seen most of the Americans staring at them. A thong would definately get attention.
