The Latest Update for Conan Exiles is Here. Rolling out last September 1, new Exiles who want to explore the game could test it out for free from September 1 to 8 for Steam and September 8 to 11 on Xbox.
Making your Exile stronger can be quite tricky in Conan Exiles, aside from potions, weapons and armor, there’s the Attribute system where you level up your stats to unlock perks for your Character.
With all this, also comes the corrupted system where you spend corruption points on your attributes to strengthen your character at the cost of your Hp and Stamina.
In this Guide, we will be explaining the whole Attribute system and the pros and cons of going for a corrupted build in Conan Exiles.
Ultimate Corrupted Vs. Uncorrupted Attribute Guide in Conan Exiles
In the Age of Sorcery, the total number of Attribute Points you can Earn for your Exile is 60. These points can be spent on your six main Attributes namely; Strength, Agility, Vitality, Authority, Grit and Expertise. The Maximum points you can spend on an attribute are locked at 20.
You gain a perk every time you spend 5 attribute points. When you level up an attribute to 10 points, you have the option to choose between two available perks. Maxing an attribute to 20 points would give you a total of 4 perks where 2 of these are milestones for you to choose from at level 10 and level 20.
Corruption
Soul Essence is required to upgrade your attributes. You do this by sacrificing a living human on a sacrificial stone to gain Soul Essence. These in turn can be used to further enhance your attributes by corrupting them and giving you more power at the expense of your life and stamina.
The number of points you can spend on corrupting a certain attribute depends on the level of the attribute. For example, if you have spent 10 attribute points to your strength, then you can corrupt your strength attribute up to level 10.
Like the basic attribute levelling system, you gain additional perks for every 5 points of attribute spent on the corruption.
Take note that you have to be heavily corrupted for you to corrupt your attributes. Using spells learned from sorcerers will raise your corruption level.
Encumbrance
The encumbrance level shows how many items you can carry. With the Age of Sorcery Update, they removed the encumbrance attribute and the basic amount of items you can carry depends on the armor you are carrying, certain potions you are using and when you level up your Strength and Expertise.
With that out of the way, let us see what happens when you max out your different Attributes to give you an idea of where you want to invest your points on your Exile.
Strength
Spending 5 points on your strength you the Heavy Blows Perk. This gives you 10% more damage when executing Heavy and Special Attacks.
At 10 points you have the option to choose from Combo Master or Second Skin. The Combo Master Perk grants you 20% more damage when executing combo finishers while the Second Skin Perk lowers your Equipped Armor Weight by 25%.
At 15 points you gain the Berserker Perk which activates when you have 50% health left. This deals 25% more Damage and gains 100 armour.
At max level, you get the option to choose from Blood-mad Berserker which activates when your health is below 25%. This grants you immunity from stagger or knockdown and you gain additional 10% damage and 50 armor.
The second option is the Crushing Swings Perk which increases the length of staggering opponents by 25% when using your heavy attack. Your attack also doesn’t rebound off shields.
Strength Corruption
Spending 5 points to corrupt your strength you the Scourge Perk. This deals additional damage that scales with your corrupted strength. The higher your corruption on your strength equals the higher damage dealt from all your attacks.
At 10 corrupted points, you get the Mule Kick Perk. With it, your kick knocks back enemies farther and knocks them down.
At 15 Corrupted points, you get the Wrack perk. The blows from your strikes numb your opponents reducing their damage potential.
At max corruption, you get the Desecrate Perk. The perk gives a chance when dealing damage to cause a blast of corruption to vent from the earth, knocking down and damaging enemies.
Vitality
Spending 5 attribute points on vitality you the Fierce Vitality Perk. This gives you passive health regeneration.
At 10 points you have the option to choose between the Resurgence Perk or Fast Healer. The Resurgence perk gives you a one-time healing effect when your health drops below 50%. This can be used again after being fully healed.
The Fast Healer Perk lets you receive 50% increased healing from healing effects.
At 15 points you get the Robust Perk. This Increases your maximum health by 100.
At max vitality, you have the option to choose from the Last Stand perk that activates when your health drops below 50%. This removes all negative effects and gains 95% damage mitigation for a short time.
The next option is the Glutton for Punishment Perk that lets you regenerate the last instance of damage taken over 15 seconds.
Vitality Corruption
The Grotesque Excrescence Perk is unlocked at 5 points of Corruption. This grants you passive health regeneration that scales with your corrupted vitality. The higher you spend corruption points on your vitality attribute, the higher the health regeneration gained.
At 10 points you Get the Twisted Flesh Perk. This gives you a chance to reflect on the damage you receive. This also scales with how much vitality corruption you have spent. The higher the vitality corruption, the higher reflect damage you dish out.
At 15 points you change your robust perk into Petrified. This makes you immune to bleeding, poison, disease and sunder effects.
At max vitality corruption, you gain the Tainted Vessel Perk. You expel corruption when taking damage that deals area damage or corrupting enemies around you if they can receive corruption.
Authority
Spending 5 points of Authority gives you the Irritate Perk. Your active followers will goad your enemies to force them to attack your follower. This is more like the taunt skill in other role-playing games.
At 10 Authority points, you have the option to choose from the Commanding Presence Perk where your active followers restore health when you deal damage in combat.
The other option is the Healthy Diet Perk. Here your active followers gain passive health regeneration when they are not engaged in combat.
At 15 points you gain the Attentive Care Perk. This gives your active followers 50% increased healing.
At max Authority you have the option to choose between the Well Trained or War Party Perk.
The Well-Trained Perk increases the Attributes of your active followers while the War Party Perk increases your maximum followers by 1 but your stats no longer influences your followers’ damage output.
Authority Corruption
Spending 5 points of corruption will give you the Frenzy perk. When dealing damage in combat, your followers enter a frenzied state dealing 3% increased damage for each corrupted authority attribute. The higher corruption you spend on authority scales your follower overall increased damage.
At 10 corruption points, you gain the Flesh Bond Perk. Damage taken by you is split between you and your followers.
At 15 corruption points, you gain the Devour Perk. Damage dealt by your follower heals you. This is a good perk to get if you are going for a corrupted build. This would increase your survivability when every damage your follower dishes out would convert a certain percentage to health.
At max Authority corruption, you get the Demon Lord Perk. When dealing damage, you have a chance for an uncontrolled demonic entity to appear and attack your enemies temporarily.
This is actually a good perk although if you have zombies in your group, the Demon also considers them as enemies and in some situations, your demon just goes for the nearest zombie follower you have and end up fighting amongst themselves while you are left with dealing with enemies.
Corrupted vs. Uncorrupted Build
We recommend you focus on the Uncorrupted build. They have great perks that would help you in most situations. Being corrupted grants you very strong perks but remember that this costs you health and stamina in the end.
