When I got married the second (and last) time, I was told that my husband, an Air Force man, would make a great “housewife.” 🤣It was only when I saw his meticulous habits that I understood the depth of that statement. I was a single mom with a houseful of boys and dogs, and (usually) reveling in the beautiful chaos. But enter John, with his expectations of order and discipline. 😳Right. . . . . It was a jarring shift for everyone, I think that God put us on Earth to teach John Williams patience. 🤣 (And that there is beauty in chaos.)But the flip side of that is also true! Michael Gamonal and I also learned a thing or two about order and attention to detail. Mickey is now a First Lieutenant in the Army Reserves, and he is one of the more orderly and disciplined young men I have met. Sometimes even neat! (I'm sure his wife appreciates this.) Why am I sharing this story? It's a testament to the power of simplicity and order. Admiral McRaven’s viral video on making your bed comes to mind - 'If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed'. Master Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Frasier echoed the same sentiment, 'Brilliance lies in the basics. Clean your room, and you're ready for anything.' In business too, the basics matter. A flawless ad campaign is futile if your basics aren't in order. Customers are greeted by a full voicemail box, a dirty front office, a broken contact form or any other form of imperfection. As we kick off the new year, we return to the basics. A checklist. A simple tool, but a gateway to brilliance. Whether you're a long-term client or our newest partner, this is our chance to be brilliant! Remember, there is brilliance in the basics! It’s not too late to start a brilliant New Year!

COMMUNICATE AND ADJUSTClarity on Defensive Principles are paramount to being a good off ball defender. However, the game is chaotic and the ability to just communicate and figure out different situations is probably just as important. A defense that doesn’t communicate is not a good defense!!
