Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (2024)

ZETSUBOU NO SHIMA (Eclipse DLC)

New features:
Spiders: Instead of hellhounds/dogs, spiders will appear every 5 rounds. As with the hellhounds, the last one killed will drop a max ammo power up. Spiders will shoot webs at perk-a-holic machines, players and in the middle of paths, preventing players from going through.

Buckets: Each player can pick up a bucket (Maximum 1 per player). There are more than 4 buckets scattered around the map. Hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (1) to pick the bucket up. Each player can fill his bucket with blue, green or purple water. This water can be used to activate the power, or to water plants.

Plants/seeds: Killing zombies will sometimes result in a seed being dropped. You can plant this seed in specific spots scattered around the map. You can then each round either water it with blue, green or purple water, or not water it. Regardless of whether you've watered it, it will grow each round. A third option to grow it is to shoot the plant with the KT-4 after you've planted it, creating an upgraded version of the plant (which acts as some type of fertilizer). Each round, you can choose to water it or not (and with which color of water) and you can choose whether to shoot it with the KT-4 or not. A process of fully growing a plant will always take 3 rounds! Each combination of specific ways to grow a plant will or can result in different plants appearing once it is fully grown. Watering a plant twice with blue water and once with green water gives a 67% chance of it becoming a blue plant and a 33% chance of it becoming a green plant. Same goes for any other combination of colors of water/not watering it.

Types of plants:

Unwatered Plant (No Water)
Planting a seed without watering it will cause it to grow the next round, and it can give a weak weapon, powerup, drop a grenade, or spawn a zombie. Usually not worth planting.

Hide ads

Blue Water Plant (Blue Water)Watering the seed 3 times with Blue Water can spawn powerups or some weapons.

Fertilized Blue Water Plant (Blue Water + Shoot with KT-4)

Using the KT-4 to fertilize the seed each time you water it with blue water can give you good weapons, such as the Ray Gun, Marshall-16s, and Monkey Bombs. It can also spawn powerups and an extra perk slot in the form of a bottle. This method of planting is also needed for the AA shell in the Easter Egg.

There is also a slight chance to spawn an Imprint Plant. These are incredibly useful once you are set up, and can be a lifesaver in the Boss Fight. They appear as a green egg, and once you hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (2) on it, whatever weapons, perks, and equipment you are carrying at that given moment will be saved in the egg, and if you die and bleed out you will respawn from the egg with everything you had. You can have multiple Imprint Plants grown, but you can only imprint on one at a time.

Green Water Plant (Green Water)

Watering the seed 3 times with Green Water will create a Pincer Plant, like the arm of a praying mantis, and when a zombie or spider gets near it, the plant will hold onto it for ten minutes. This can be useful in the end of the round when you need to get a step to a side quest done without disturbance, or in Co-Op if you need a break for a moment. You can force the plant to kill the zombie by simply shooting it.

Fertilized Green Water Plant (Green Water + Shoot with KT-4)

Using the KT-4 to fertilize the seed each time you water it with green water gives you a Pincer Plant that will hold onto a zombie for an hour. This is even more useful for extended breaks from the game.

Purple Water Plant (Purple Water)

Watering the seed 3 times with Purple Water creates what looks like an egg with a small arm sticking out of it. This plant will attract nearby zombies and distract them, while slowly decapitating them. There is no way to get rid of this plant besides letting it eat enough zombies until it dies, which can be annoying in an easter egg run!

Fertilized Purple Water Plant (Purple Water + Shoot with KT-4)

Using the KT-4 to fertilize the seed each time you water it with purple water gives you the same plant, but it lasts for longer and attracts more zombies.

Fruit Plant (One of Each Color Water)

Watering a seed 3 times with a different color each time has a chance to spawn a Fruit Plant, and when a fruit is eaten there is a chance you will get a perk (You must have a free slot for it) that is not on the map, such as Electric Cherry and Deadshot Daiquiri. There is also a chance you will throw up, which is needed for the achievement One Too Many:

  • One Too Many

NOTE: A fruit plant is not guaranteed and is actually quite rare. You will likely end up with a Blue, Purple, or Green plant as if you watered the seed with those colors three times.

Fertilized Fruit Plant (One of Each Color Water + Shoot with KT-4)

Using the KT-4 to fertilize the seed each time you water the seed with a different color of water has a chance to spawn an upgraded Fruit Plant. The upgraded plant still has a chance to give you perks, but you will not throw up unless you have max perks.

Skull of Nan Sapwe/challenges: If you turn right at the spawn and open 2 doors, you'll enter an area with all kinds of pillars. Each pillar corresponds with one player. Aiming at the symbols on the pillar will allow you to see what challenges you need to complete.

Spores: These orange units can be found around the map, and can be used to gain oxygen(when underwater), complete challenges and to turn zombies into a beast. Walking through the orange smoke will result in your character having to cough for a few seconds.
The Beast/Trasher: There are orange spores around the map. When a zombie walks past a spore which has a certain size, the spore will explode and the zombie will turn into a beast (trasher). This beast will try to hit you. If he does, you will go down. He'll also eat downed allies. Obviously kill the beast by shooting the orange spores on his body.

KT-4: This is a new weapon on this map. You will need to collect 3 parts in order to build the weapon. Only one player can then pick the weapon up. Other players can from that point on get the weapon from the mystery box. The weapon can also be upgraded to a more powerful version. The weapon itself shoots greenish acid. All zombies will take damage from the acid when it is shot at them or when they walk through the acid. Part 1 can be received by going underwater near the Mule kick machine. Swim all the way down, to find a flower (Use orange spores for air in the mean time). 2nd part can be received by trapping a spider in a cage in Lab A area (blue water). First lower the cage from the room you use to turn the power on. Then wait for a spider to enter the cage. Then bring the cage back up and retrieve the part. For the 3rd part, you have to kill a green zombie which randomly shows up, and then pick up the part from the spot which you killed him at. He appears to spawn in the Lab B area, around the green water. Therefore, I usually work my way through the rounds in that area, in order to let the green zombie spawn and get that final part. Once that's done, build the KT-4 down in the sewer area near Mule kick.

Gas mask: There are 3 parts which you need to collect. Once you have collected them, built the gas mask at a crafting table and equipped the gas mask, you will not be stunned anymore by the orange spores. The parts can be found in random locations in the docks, Lab B area (green water) and the area with the propeller trap (turn left when coming from spawn).

*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Traps: There are all kinds of new traps located around the map. Like traps from previous zombie maps, spend some cash to activate the trap and let it kill zombies. There is the propeller trap that can be found on the far left map starting from spawn and looking towards the bunker. There is also a fan trap immediately upon entering the bunker and buying the door to the right.

Zombie shield part locations: Three parts must be found to build the shield. One can be found at Lab B on the side closer to spawn, most likely on a tree. One can be found under Lab A. The last can be found by going into the bunker and buying the door to the right, where the part is in this area with the AA gun.------------------------------------------

For the first achievement, you'll need 2+ players. Once a Beast (trasher) spawns in, simply down yourself by cooking a grenade or by letting zombies and or the Beast kill you. Once you are down, the beast will eat. Now once he has eaten you, let a teammate kill the beast, and then revive you. You'll then unlock your first achievement.

The second achievement is not as hard as it sounds. Go to the area where Mule kick is at, and where you build the KT-4. If you go underwater over there, you should be able to find 3 orange spores. Simply go underwater and immediately go to the first spore. Once your screen shows the 2nd red line (meaning you are about to drown), either shoot or bumb against the spore to gain some oxygen. Do so for the 2nd and 3rd spore as well. Now when you've used the last 3rd spore, go back to the mule kick machine, and go out of the water once you are about to drown again, to unlock the achievement.

  • Iron Lung

In Zetsubou No Shima, stay underwater for one minute.

In a game where you've build the KT-4 (probably the easter egg run or when also going for the "Crop Duster" achievement, use the Kt-4 on a web which is located on the left hand side of the map when coming from spawn, near Lab A. After destroying this web, you can slide down a hole to enter a new room. Here you will find a giant spider which you need to fight. Make sure you are set up for this (have Juggernog and decent guns). The spider will attack you with its poison and besides little spiders will attack you every now and then. Make sure to hit the spider on its weak spot on its face, in order to kill him. After a rather short but a little hectic fight, you can continue to another room where you are able to drink from water which will give you the widows wine perk. Make sure that you don't have more than 3 perks, as widows wine does need a spot to appear on your "perks list".

  • Sanguine Serum

In Zetsubou No Shima, drink fresh Widow's Wine.

The "Crop Duster" achievement requires you to get 10 kills with a single shot from the KT-4. Just run a train of zombies (the higher round, the better, as more zombies will spawn). Once all zombies have spawned and you've amassed a decent train, hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (20) to charge a shot of the KT-4 and then shoot it on the floor in between you and the zombies. Don't shoot multiple shots as you need to kill 10 zombies with a single shot. Try to get as many zombies run over the acid before it disappears. If you press back before you shoot the acid you can check at how many kills you are currently standing, to give you an indication of whether you almost got enough zombies or not. I do remember this achievement being a bit tough to get due to either kills not registering or it not popping when killing at least 10 zombies. Either way, keep trying and it should pop eventually.

For the "One too many", you will first need to accumulate a total of at least 4 perks by purchasing them or by yourself and or teammates spawning "On the House" pick ups. Besides, make sure that the entire map is opened up, so that you can collect all 3 colors of water from around the map. Next, you can start planting seeds obtained from killing zombies. You will need to water the seeds with the following colors of water also in this order: Blue, Purple and Green. Then wait one round and the plant should turn into a fruit which you can eat from. It does not always turn into a fruit plant! Since you already have quite an amount of perks, the chances of throwing up are decent. (the fruit can either make you throw up or it will give you a free perk). Since it is not 100% guaranteed that you throw up on your first plant, be sure to plant a few of them to increase your chances. Also, it will not always become a fruit plant.

You will want to get an imprint plant for this achievement. As described at the top of this page, best chances to get an imprint plant is by not watering a seed, and only shooting it with your KT-4 every round. If you've successfully grown an imprint plant, you can make an imprint in the plant. If you happen to die (completely bleed out, you will return to the game with the current set up when you made the imprint. As for the other plant related achievements, plant a few seeds as it is not 100% guaranteed to get the right plant right away.

Every spider rounds, the spiders will shoot webs to either attack you or one of your teammates, or they will block pathways, perkaholic machines or gubblegum machines. You will need to destroy these webs in 6 different ways in a single game. The webs that can only be destroyed with the KT-4 do not count for this. You will need to destroy webs in the following ways:

Knife (available from start, simply knife one of the webs)
Bowie Knife (wallbuy in between lab A and lab B for 3000 points)

Grenades (widows wine or regular) Regular grenades are available from the start. Just throw a grenade into the web and let the web explode.
XM-53 (you can get this from the box or from unwatered plants)
Raygun (also available from the box or by watering plants with blue water + optionally shoot the plant with KT-4)
KT-4 (buildable, shoot know how to build this by know)

For the last 3 weapons, just shoot at the webs to destroy them. The raygun can be the toughest to get as the box can be unforgiving and it does not very often spawn from plants either. Helpful gubblegums are immolated liquidation (spawns fire sale), extra credit for cash and other gubblegums that will increase the amount of points that you will get. This achievement isnt that tough to get with the right gubblegums available or with decent teammates. I personally got it in the same run as we did the easter egg in. Knife, bowie knife, grenade and XM-53 should be relatively easy to accomplish. For the raygun and the KT-4, keep using the box until you get it You could try the plants for the raygun and for the KT-4 maybe you are the lucky one who can pick up the KT-4 when it is build.

The Ultimate Sacrifce achievement is for obtaining the Skull of Nan-Sapwe. You will need to do this in the same game as your easter egg run, as that's required in order to complete the easter egg. You can obtain the Skull by completing 4 rituals, more or less the same as on Shadows of Evil. In the same area where you can find your challenges, you will see 4 skulls on an altar, along with some symbols on pillars. These symbols correspond with one of the 4 altars scattered around the map. You will need to pick up the skulls, bring them to the corresponding altars and then kill all the zombies that will try and attack the skull. If done correctly, the skull is "charged" and you can bring it back to the original altar which you picked it up from. The rituals will get harder as you do more of them, and as the rounds progress.
The altars can be found in the following 4 locations:

1. Spawn Area
2. In the KT-4 Room
3. Propeller Trap/Plane Trap area
4. Docks area (where you can take the zipline to)After having completed all 4 of these rituals, head back and place the skulls back. A lightning strike will hit a tree, opening a cave for you to enter. Here you can do the final ritual. Keep in mind that the door will close behind you while you do the ritual. Once that's done, you can pick up the skull from the center of the cave.

The last achievement in this DLC will be the easter egg. The easter egg itself is not that difficult. It does take some time though. Before you start with the easter egg, make sure that:

- Power is turned on and the entire map is accessible.
- Skull of Nan Sapwe is available for pick up. (see above at "Ultimate Sacrifice" achievement).
- The KT-4, Zombie shield and Gas Mask are built, and preferably also have the pack-a-punch ready, as you will want to have some pack-a-punched weapons in the boss fight.
- Every player has completed ALL of their challenges.

Try to do this in as few rounds as possible, as it gets harder to progress through the rounds. You can start on the easter egg while some of the above mentioned requirements aren't met yet, though be sure to start working on them right from the start of the game.

Step 1: Using the Skull of Nan Sapwe, mesmerize (hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (54)) the piece of paper on the wall near the purple water. The other half of the paper should appear and you will now be able to reveal hidden areas on the map in later steps.

Step 2: Mesmerize the door to the left of an elevator shaft when you first enter the bunker. Remember this area as you will return here later with the cogs for the bossfight.

Step 3: Upgrade the KT-4 to the Masamune. To do this you must collect three parts.

  1. After killing the giant spider, go up to its mouth and hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (55) to acquire one of its fangs.
  2. Complete all challenges, and lightning will occasionally strike the challenge platform. Hold out the shield while this happens for an electric shield. Now go to Lab B and melee the panel where the cage is held. Go into the cage and you will be lowered into a hole where there will be a corpse with a vial of 115. Collect the vial to be pulled out.
  3. Using the pipe from the lab to the green water area. Wait until a specific point in the path where there are blue rocks to the right and hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (56) to collect rainbow water, which will show up in the top left. This is very very tricky timing and will take many tries. Once you have the water, go to the underwater tunnel where you found the plant for the KT-4, and use the skull of nan sapwe to mesmerize the wall to the right, revealing a plant location. Plant a seed, and every round water it with rainbow water until it fully grows. Collect the plant.

Once all parts are collected, go to a different table nearby the one where you crafted the KT-4, and craft the Masamune.

Step 4: Collect three cogs. These can be collected in any order.

  1. Use the Anywhere But Here! gobblegum, and you will end up in a special room with hatched eggs. Simply pick up the cog off the floor.
  2. Plant seeds and water them with blue water for three rounds. There is a chance they will be a plant which gives you an Anti-Aircraft round. Go to the flak gun to the right as you enter the bunker. Place the round into the flak gun, and wait for a giant plane that will pass in the gun's trajectory. When it is in its sight, hold Guide for Call of Duty: Black Ops III (57) to fire the flak gun. If you miss, just make another plant until you get another one. After shooting the plane, the cog will land either near Lab A or B.
  3. After completing all challenges, lightning will strike the challenge platform. Hold the shield out to electrify it. If you are playing solo, melee the panel by the zipline at Lab A. Then take the zipline, and when you are above a wooden dock, hit the melee button to drop. If you are in co-op, just have another player shock the panel while you are in the middle of ziplining. Be careful as you can land in the water and instantly die. On the dock is the last cog.

Step 5: Place all three cogs onto the machine through the door you made disappear in step 2. You may now enter the elevator which will take you to the lower level where the boss fight is. Be prepared with good weapons and perks, shields, a gas mask, and someone with the Masamune. Using the Masamune, shoot some orange spores out of your path to get into the boss fight. To start the fight, shoot one of the four arms of the giant thrasher that has a glowing orange spore with the Masamune. A bunch of zombies, thrashers, and spiders will spawn. Start running around, killing as many as you can, avoiding the arms of the giant thrasher. Once one of the arms of the boss has a glowing orange spot, shoot it the same as before, and a max ammo will spawn. Repeat this two more times and the boss fight will be over and the cutscene will play with the achievement earned:
